"Your moisturizer shares a history with dynamite."

Glycerin was first isolated in 1779 by a Swedish chemist attempting to make a medicinal lead plaster. It later became the raw material for dynamite — and it's still the same molecule sitting near the top of most moisturizer labels today, the material this entire series opens with.

What's Inside

Most ingredient guides are dictionaries. You look something up, you learn what it is, you close the book, and the next unfamiliar name sends you back to square one. This is built the other way around. The method comes first. The eleven materials are how you learn to use it.
